Round 3: 50-50

This is Round 3 of the Number 42 Sample Quiz! The total sample quiz consists of 10 rounds, with a total of 100 quiz questions. Round 3 is our 50/50 round. In the most common version of the colour distribution the order is: white, yellow, orange, green, blue, brown, black.

Answer B was correct: The Mona Lisa looks to the left.

In which image do we see the “real” 200 euro note?

In image B.

The 200 euro note is yellow. The purple color of image A belongs to the 500 euro banknote.

Which photo shows a so-called Okapi?

On photo A we see an Okapi. This animal can be found in Africa and is the closest living relative of the giraffe. The animal in photo B is a capybara: the world’s largest rodent.

On which photo do we see the activity called ‘Ikebana’?

Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. The activity in photo A is called origami; the well-known Japanese art of paper folding.

On which part of the body can you find a so-called “areola”?

Part B of the photo

In this case the areola falls within part B: it is the scientific name for the pigmented area on the breast around the nipple.

Who won an Oscar for playing a famous musician?

Rami Malek; the man in photo A.

He played Freddie Mercury in the film Bohemian Rhapsody. Daniel Day Lewis won no less than three Oscars for the best male lead, but never for playing a musician. In 1989 he won his first for ‘My left foot’. He later won two more awards for ‘There Will be Blood’ and ‘Lincoln’.
