Looking back at
Science + Tech – Online Quiz 2020
It was an absolute pleasure hosting the Science + Tech Online Quiz on June 11th 2020 and it was especially amazing to see teams from all over the world joining the fun. π
333 teams took on the challenge, with a grand total of over 1200 participants. Players from 38 different countries on 4 different continents took part. Some played in groups of friends, while others played on behalf of their company or University.
The participants tackled 50 questions about a wide variety of Science + Tech related topics. Famous inventors, gadgets, animals and their shells, mobius strips, the Spice Girls (oh yes!), the periodic table and many other fun facts made an appearance.
We asked our players to estimate the number of M&Mβs in a jar; a question that was also used as a tie-breaker to make sure everyone had a unique position in the ranking. Some teams were exceptionally good at this! The team that came closest to the correct answer β853β was just 8 M&Mβs off and several other teams were just 9 or 10 off.
A lot of teams did an excellent job, far exceeding our expectations in spite of some very challenging questions. πΒ The winning team was The elements (Thermo Fisher Scientific), with an incredible final score of 510 points.
You can view the entire ranking here.
